Tennis Club Como

Como Tennis Club was founded in 1930 and is one of the oldest Tennis Club in Italy.

The top of its athletic splendor was reached in 1980 where the stronger world players , from Rod Laver to Lew Hoad, from Nicola Pietrangeli to Adriano Panatta competed on its tennis fields. In the Club, most of the Italian Tennis champions were formed, male such as Valentino Taroni and Paolo Carobbio and female like Vittoria Tonolli and Lucia Valerio.

After that Golden Age, Como Tennis Club has been continuing its tradition of divulgating tennis culture, promoting it among young people as well as organizing tournaments for young people and amateurs.
It is a lively and glamorous club inside the City of Como. In fact, during each year many important tournaments are organized which represent prestigious events in the city social life.

The most important tournament is, for sure, the ATP CHALLENGER “Città di Como” which is held every year on late August and brings many personalities of the tennis world to Como.

In September another important event takes place in the Tennis Como area. It is the tournament called “Racchette di Legno “ (Wooden Rackets) where the players are all dressed in white and play with wooden rackets, like in the past!
